A walk in the countryside, away from roads, discovering the world of trees - Free admission

Unique in Switzerland, the National Arboretum is a large park where species and varieties of trees and shrubs from all continents that can be naturalized in our country are presented. For more details see: What is an arboretum?

The Arboretum is crossed from north to south by the Aubonne, torrential river born at the foot of the Jura, south-east of Bière. It receives two tributaries, the Toleure and Sandoleyre. Its lowest part is situated at 500m above sea level while the higher reaches 670m. The orientation of the Arboretum, the Jura to Lake Geneva, is very favorable to vegetation. The valley of the Aubonne is a zone of instability with many nipples and side crashes. As a result, the exposures are diverse and support the introduction of many woody plant species.

Everyone can discover the Arboretum at will, depending on the interest and time available, or simply to walk in a quiet and natural environnement. Although a private association, the Arboretum is to maintain free entry. Everyone can freely visit all year round. There are open day and night. A flyer and a some publications are available to the desk..

To asure the development of this park and especially the care of collections, the Association AAVA has the support of corporations, public authorities and also the public, all those who love trees, nature and this wonderful site.
